The bridge was as tall as a mountain covering the path like an umbrella. The crabs looked like ants climbing the wall trying to get to the top.The wall looks prickly and scratchy. The snow on the road looked like icing sugar.there were no cars going under like there was people in the city.

free writing
The white leaves are like snow on the tree, as it stretches out it’s long thin branches. The tree was looking like a big white snow monster coming to attack me . The snow was creeping up the tree like a lion creeping up on it’s prey. The snow on the ground looked like a blanket of icing sugar. The sky looked like a milky way, but the patchy black and white looked like a storm was coming.
I choose descriptive picture writing.
I like my writing because its descriptive and I has lots of similes in it and the most descriptive one was The snow on the ground looked like a blanket of icing sugar.

I enjoyed Henare O’Keefe because he was really funny and he said that you can give without loving but can't love without giving. I also enjoyed Joe, head boy of Hastings Boys High School because he inspired us to have fun, be there, choose your attitude and also make your mother a cup of tea. Joe said that you can make a difference even if it is 1 or 1000 you can make a difference the story about the boy who through the starfish and he through it back in the water. Paora said to work hard, work smart and work together it really inspired me to do that and try hard in everything I do. Working together is better than working by yourself.

The elephant
As the sun rises behind the elephant it charges through the jungle barging through everything in its way. The elephant swinging his trunk like a swaying swing in the playground and Its ears flapping like birds wings flapping in the distance. The animals around the elephant like fish running away from the great white shark.
This term we are writing descriptive pieces. We are using figurative language. Here is an example from an image I choose.

Recount
We are learning to:
Recount an exciting event so that our readers knows what happened and how we felt
Fishing day
My legs were shaking as I was running down stairs
To see my dad packing all the fishing gear I went to go help him pack my fishing rod it was all tangled with string and it took a long to to unscramble it and then put it into the boot of the car with all the other gear.
All my family sat in the car as we drove to my Aunty house to pick her up and all
her gear.We went to the raft and started putting our bait on the hook and wheeling our rods into the water. Then my dad had a wheel with string around it and through it as hard as he could we all sat down in our chair waiting until the fish arrive.
Seconds swam by and then minutes finally my mum and dad caught a fish they were only small but it was alright.Next was my aunty she caught a larger one then my mum and dad.
Finally, I saw something swirling in the water it was a fish.

Chromebooks
Bike tracks
St Mary's school is a good place to opportunity to practice your skill and learn lots of different
sports such as soccer, netball, basketball, ripper rugby, rugby, softball and more.We even play basketball against other schools at the Hastings sports centre and make teams to play for volleyball, netball and ripper rugby or any other types of rugby sports.
Every Thursdays at St Mary's school all the seniors go to tec arts at havlock north intermediate school to try different activities like doing wood works cooking making movie clips learning about electricity and some other things too.We go to class when the 8:30 bell goes and we grab our pencil case and rulers then say karakia and then line up and go to the bus.
At St Mary's school all the seniors have their own Chromebooks we use them for our learning and search up photos or information about the subject we are doing. The chrome has all our reading, writing, presentation and sometimes we do maths on it as well.On presentation we can put photos and slide and make effects on it as well.
St Mary's school has got a bike track made out of limestone and has two other tracks called the pump track and the skills track the school has provided school bikes for big and small people. The bike track is a great track for little kids to learn how to bike and to have fun.
I think writing this report has been fun.
Next step for me is to put more information into each paragraph.
Wacky
The title of this photo is called "Wacky," by Te Mana Potiki.

The double bass
The double bass

The double bass looks quite similar to the violin, only much bigger! A full sized
double bass has a body about 140 centimetres long, and has four or sometimes five
strings
The double bass is made out of wood .
People that use this instrument has to stand up
The double bass is use a bow to pick or string it and it is huge.
The double bass, or upright bass, also called the string bass, bass fiddle, bass violin, doghouse bass, contrabass, bass viol, stand-up bass, bull fiddle or simply bass, is the largest and lowest-pitched in the violin family.
People call a bow to use to play the double bass.
The colour of the double bass is usually brown.

My holidays
These holidays have been fun I went to village pools in Havelock North with my friends Joel and his brother Ephraim. First we had a swim we played on the wrestling pole for half an hour, after that we ate chicken and lettuce sandwiches and we had mountain dew, it was so delicious.
Next we had another swim the water was freezing cold so we brought a zombie chew that was from the counter and we lay in the shinning sun. My mum told us to put some sun block on before we go back into the water so we don't get sunburn then we jumped back into the pool and we did bombs, spins, flips, dives and we did manus. At the village there are three pools a large big pool for lanes, heated pool and a really deep pool my friend was a bit scared because it is deep and he cant swim but my other friend Joel could not swim but he wanted to play with me so we did at first he did not want to swim to the middle but he might of drowned so he just held on to the handlebar then he was not scared and he could swim to the middle of the pool but he need my help so we got a board for him.
After that we had another four hours of swimming. We did lots of cool things, we grabbed boards and jumped on them and then we made a long stepping stones with the boards and we ran across them and at the end me and my friend Joel jumped off the boards and dived in the pool It was really fun we did it lots of times. After that we went and got changed and had a little play in the park we played on the scooter and on the swing then my mum said to come on because we had to go back and drop my friends of at home and we had a really fun day together.
I think this is my favourite piece of writing because
I put in 3 paragraphs and did not use (and) a lot.
My next step is to put more interesting and
describing words in my writing.
